Shook Motorsports offers engine building services for all designations of the Mazda Rotary Engine.
All engine rebuilds are treated with same goal; to maximize the return on your investment. Mazda seals, gaskets and bearing are the replacement parts of choice. Below is general pricing and a more in depth description of what goes into the building of an engine.
- Engine Assembly Labor $800
- This includes disassembly, cleaning, inspection, clearancing of seals, and the reassembly of the short block. Bearing clearance (with reused or new bearings), eccentric shaft run-out, and rotor to housing clearance are just a few of the measurements checked in the inspection process. The rotors are cleaned to a like new condition and then every seal clearance is verified before the motor is reassembled.
- Soft Seal Kit $150-$500
- This is the "gasket kit". It contains all of various gaskets and the O-rings for the assembly of the engine. The cost depends directly on which motor is being rebuilt
- Hard Seals (rotor seals) $1000-$1400
- These are all of the springs and seals that go directly onto the rotor. Like the Soft Seal Kit the cost is directly related to which engine is being rebuilt.
- Rotor Housings (per pair) $1000-$1600
- Although there is the rare occasion that the rotor housings are reusable, more often than not they are not reusable and need to be replaced
- Side Plate Resurfacing $320
- Just like the rotor housings the side plates more often than not need to be resurfaced to ensure the highest quality motor from the rebuilding process.
Porting work is available and the prices will vary depending on your specific power goals. If you have questions regarding port work please feel free to call or write me an e-mail.
